Hemp Hand Protector - The Body Shop

The Body Shop
Hemp Hand Cream - £3.50
Since blogging I have discovered more and more incredible products from The Body Shop, I was always a fan but now their products feature heavily in my routines.
I was recently sent the Hemp Hand Protector and couldn't wait to try it out, this is The Body Shops best selling hand cream, I had heard other people really rate this hand cream so I had high hopes. What you initially notice about this product is the packaging, it's in a foil type tube which I quite like, it's a little like the Cath Kidson hand creams you can pick up. It's easy to apply and stays clean which is another thing I really like, nothing worse than when it clogs up around the top!
The actual hand cream itself it extremely creamy and not at all runny, I really enjoy this thick texture as you can really work it into your hands and any particular dry patches. The reason it works so well is because it contains hemp seed oil, my skin absolutely loves this oil, it sinks right in leaving my hands feeling supple and soft.
The smell is a little unusually, it's not unpleasing, but actually quite unscented. I have used this product for the last week now and I have noticed hands are softer and less hard around the nail.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this hand cream, I would go as far to say its probably one of the best hand creams I have ever used. Please check it out on The Body Shops website, its currently on offer for an amazing £3.50.

YSL Rouge Pure Shine Lipstick

YSL is one of my favourite luxury brands, I am such a huge fan of the packaging and just adore the products. I was in my local boots recently and thought I would try a new spring shade, after all... It is meant to be spring!

I was drawn to a light pinky shade - Pure Shine 16. This shiny lipstick has exceptional gliding properties illuminates the lips with sparkling, transparent colours. I really enjoy a full coverage lipstick, but I also love how lightweight this coverage is. The exclusive long golden cap opens in a 'click' to reveal a delightful, hydrating texture that reshapes the lips while ensuring comfort and protection, it also have SPF 15.

In terms of staying power, this is a winner! my lips felt moisturised all day and didn't dry at all. The price tags on these type of products are high, this was £22, which I know is a lot of money, but as a gift or even just to treat yourself its money well spent!

Let me know if you have tried any new YSL products recently.

MAXFACTOR COLOUR ELIXIR IN VIBRANT PINK

I adore pink lipsticks and recently my collect has grow quite a lot (Oops!) but this little crayon of gorgeous bright pink colour is one of the best lip products I have bought in ages. I often find products that I really like and recommend to people, but this product is something else! The texture is somewhere between a Revlon Lip Butter and a creamy lip balm, but the colour pay off is just incredible. For me finding a really bright lip colour that doesn't dry my lips out and leave them sore the next day is really hard, but this beauty ticks all the boxes, the staying power really is fantastic.

The only issue I have with this product is that you have to find a giant sharpener when the product runs low, as you can see from the photos there is just a small nib of product, which I'm worried will run out quite quickly. this product is priced at £6.99 which I think its great for a truly fantastic product.I am dying to get my hand son the red colour they also have, I'm not too keen on the pink shimmer colour but I might be swayed!

Dainty Doll Blusher - 003 - Money Talks

For anyone who follows my blog, know how much of a fan I am of the Dainty Doll range by Nicola Roberts, especially since Fragrance Direct have been featuring the range on their website! I have used Dainty Doll blushers before and really enjoyed using them, so when I next made an order from Fragrance Direct I was sure to pop a few more of these blushers into my basket.

I am such a massive fan of the Dainty Doll packaging, its really simple but really sophisticated. I think the black casing really looks classy, this looks fab in my acrylic make-up storage, as does the rest of the Dainty doll range.

I love this product, its a bronze/dusky pink/taupe colour (quite difficult to describe but really lovely) which is too subtle to be an actual bronzer, but for me its the perfect contour as it adds great definition to my cheekbones, or it gives a lovely fresh faced glowy look as a blusher when applied to cheeks. I really recommend you swatch this if you pass it in the shops.

I regret buying...

Its not often I have products which I regret buying, the beauty of being part of the online beauty blogging community is that I hear a lot about products before I buy them, so I normally do my research so I don't waste my money.

On the odd occasion though, I do get it wrong and I end up buying a product I don't like or just doesn't work for me. This time its the Max Factor Smokey Eye Effect eyeshadow in 6 - Purple Dust.

I really liked the idea of this product, as I am a huge fan of the Chubby Stick for eyes by Clinique, and this products seemed to promise the same result but with the added option of creating a smokey eye look - Which I'm a big fan of!

Unfortunately this product just does not live up to what it claims for offer -  Max Factor says -
'Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow from Max Factor makes one of beauty’s most difficult-to-master looks achievable for everyone! Available in 6 stunning shades, this all-in-one tool features two velvety crayon-like precision tips that let you blend colours to smoky perfection. The result? A smouldering eye look without the need for a make-up bag of brushes.Mastering a smoky eye has always been a skill of the make-up artist but Max Factor’s Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow makes this sought after look utterly simplistic'

The problem I have with this product is its creases so quickly, literally within an hour, even with eye primer. It doesn't last and it runs which is a massive turn off for me with crayon eye shadows. I have really tried to like this product but its not happening for me... Please let me know if you have used this product and what you thought.

Clinique Chubby EYES - Ample Amber

I think I speaking for a lot of make-up lovers when I say that Clinique Chubby Sticks are amazing. So you can imagine how excited I was to hear that Clinique were expanding the Chubby Stick line and bringing out a Chubby Stick for the eyes! I know they have been out for a while now, but I wanted to share with you my thoughts on one I purchased about a month ago... I picked up Ample Amber, although I could have easily bought all of them, the colours are gorgeous!
Its pretty much the same as the Chubby Sticks for lips, the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes are packaged in chunky crayon style casings which are very easy to use and have a click on lid so you know it want decorate the inside of your make up bag!
As they are in pencil form you can apply straight to the eyes and blend out, they are so easy to use, It litterally takes seconds! I really like the design of the product, you do not need to use a hige pencil sharper, you just twist and new product pops up.
Clinique says the new shadow tints are sheer and state that they provide a long-wearing and non-smudging formula and that each shade has been enriched with vitamin E for a soothing and smoothing quality, which is essential for use on the delicate eye area.I have found this product is not only lovely for an all over colour, but also great as a primer.

The Chubby Stick Shadow Tints for Eyes come in 12 gorgeous shades.Have you tried the Chubby Stick for eyes? Let me know what you thought!

L'Oreal CC cream - anti redness

The BB cream craze has been a pretty big one, and I am a huge fan, especially on those days you want a lovely light covered.

So I thought I would give this L'Oreal one a go, I picked up the green option as its evens out and helps with redness, something I suffer a little with. It's a lovely light texture that works with your natural skin tone.

The finish is really flawless and glowy. The L'Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream is all about all the benefits that a BB cream can offer but with extra colour correcting properties, and I love it.

It offers 24 hour hydration, a vitamin boost and SPF 12. Other Bbloggers who have also used this have reported that after 2 weeks of use skin felt "smoother, softer and progressively flawless while the skin texture was increasingly refined and improved."

I found my make up latest a lot longer and really did help with redness. Let me know if you have tried this, I'd love to know what the other options are like!
