Jerome Russell Bblonde Highlighting kit review

Recently I was sent the Bblonde Jerome Russell Highlighting Kit to review, I normally get my hair professionally coloured every 4-5 weeks so this was a completely new experience for me.
The kit says it gives you a professional salon results for permanent lightening & controlled highlight, formulated with avocado oil & seaweed extract that together claim to protect and condition both hair and scalp.
The kit I was sent is recommended for light to dark brown hair, I have very light hair so I was worried this wasn't going to be light enough!
The kit contained:
1 Sachet of powder bleach
1 Bottle of 40% Vol cream peroxide
1 Sachet of conditioning shampoo
1 Instruction leaflet
1 Application brush
1 Metal hook
1 Pair of plastic gloves
1 Mixing tray
1 Highlighting hat
1 Development hat
This is literally everything I needed which was great, I wasn't expecting the cap and hook which was a real bonus!
The leaflet was very detailed, explaining all stages of the application which was really helpful and easy to understand.
The mixture, is a very strong bleach that when all mixed together, turns a shade of purple. The texture is very thick which makes it easy to apply, and the smell wasn't actually too strong. I got picking with the hook, this can be quite difficult, I'm fairly good at it so had no problems but you might need someone to give you a hand, especially at the back. Once all my hair was through I popped the colour on, I used two boxes as my hair is quite long, this was the perfect amount for me. I finished off putting the development cap on which seals everything in.
When I washed it off I gave it a good scrub and a few washes, I used the conditioning treatment included in the pack which I found really lovely and left my hair a lot softer than expected, bleach can be so harsh so it's important to keep your hair conditioned well!
Overall I was really surprised at how good this kit was, I was expecting it to be slightly messy and awkward but it wasn't at all. The colour was pretty much identical to what I leave with when I visit a salon, I was so impressed and really pleased. I will absolutely be using this kit again!

Cleaning my brushes.

As its the Bank Holiday, I'm trying to be a good girl and get lots of little jobs done. One of these jobs being cleaning my makeup brushes. It's one of the faffy jobs I hate doing but when I have I'm so please I did, everyone loves a clean brush and my makeup goes on so much better, I tried to do it every other week!
For me, my little secret is baby shampoo, because its designed for fine hair, it's perfect for really cleaning the delicate hairs on your makeup brushes.

I fill my skink with warm water and gently massage the baby shampoo into my brushes trying to keep them brush down at all times, this just means water doesn't trickle up into the stem of the brush.
Once I have cleaned all my brushes and the water is a horrible brown colour, I rest them on a towel over a radiator to let them dry. I know some bloggers have made contraptions to allow them to hang brush side down, I'm not this creative and find this technique suits me just fine!

Let me know your brush cleaning secrets :)

The Body Shop - Coconut Body Scrub review

The Body Shop - Coconut Body Scrub £12.50.
Honestly, I'm a body scrub addict, I fake tan a lot so body scrub is my best friend if I want an even looking tan! I was recently sent some goodies from The Body Shop and this was in the pack.

What immediately hits you when opening this scrub is the scent of coconut, now don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of coconut but in small doses, this however is perfect, it's not too sickly! The consistency of the scrub is gritty without being harsh to your skin. I really like the thick creamy consistence of this scrub, which for me sets it apart from others I've used.

I really like the packaging, it's simple but efficient and easy to stay clean. But most importantly it's lovely to use, it gentle exfoliated my skin leaving it really silky and smooth, ready to be spray tanned.

At £12.50 it's not the cheapest product on the market, but in terms of value for money then it's great, a little goes a long way, I would repurchase just for the amazing scent!

Have you tried any Body Shop body scrubs? You can check them out here - Let me know!

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

Superdrugs Hot Cloth Cleanser with Vitamin E.
Before buying this product I had read some fantastic reviews, I was an avid fan of Liz Earle, and I still am. But this product is an unbelievable dupe for their famous hot clot cleanser. The only problem I have with Liz Earle is the price, and since I am saving up for the two most expensive things at the moment (Wedding and a house!) I am trying to find ways in which I can cut back, this seemed like a good option. I have sensitive skin so I have to buy sensitive products, I have read some good review on this product for sensitive skin so thought I would try it out and hope for the best.

This product is a creamy cleanser that you apply to dry skin and wipe off with a hot damp muslin cloth. It helps to remove daily grime and the muslin cloth helps to gently exfoliate the skin! I find for me this is the best way to cleanse my skin without scrubbing it which leads to soreness. The Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth cleanser has lots of vitamins in it such as A, B, F, H and mainly E.  The smell reminds me of chestnut, which it contains and is actually quite pleasant.

The texture is very creamy, I found little difference between this texture and that of the Liz Earle product. Another difference I found hard to make was the results, with both products my skin is left clean and soft, it feels nourished and well looked after. The actualy muslin cloth it came with is great too, really good at gentle exfoliating the skin.

The most amazing thing about this product is that its £4.99, and for such fantastic results you really cant go wrong, I have reperchased this product twice now and will continue to do so as long as it keeps being so fantastic.

Let me know if you have used this or thinking of making the swap! You can buy it from the Superdrug website here

Headmasters Blonde Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

Headmasters Shampoo & Conditioner
I have a very soft spot for Headmasters, I used to work in the Teddington Salon as a receptionist and absolutely loved it, since leaving after I graduated from University I have loved seeing the brand go from strength to strength. When I heard they were launching their own hair care range I was delighted, I knew that it would be fantastic as the company focuses on such high standards - and I was absolutely bang on!

I wanted to try out the blonde hair care range as I am a blondey, I normally go for either Paul Mitchel or John Frieda purple shampoo and conditioners when it comes to hair care.

Headmasters explained the reason they bought out their own hair care is because the demand from clients was so high, clients wanted a shampoo and conditioner that would protect their hair from harsh UV rays while still looking gorgeous. The first thing I noticed about this shampoo and conditioner is the smell, it has the professional salon smell that is so hard to recreate at home, After I have dried my hair I could still smell the clean fresh smell in my hair, its really lovely!

I found the shampoo really great and lathered up really well, it left my hair really shiney and the blonde tones really stood out. The conditioner again was fantastic, it works so quickly and left my hair super silky and soft.  Blow drying was also really easy with these products, I could feel my hair was protected and moved perfectly.

I really would recommend this shampoo and conditioner to everyone, I have heard great reviews of the other ranges and for such amazing prices. The shampoo retails at £4.49 for 400ml (Although Tescos have it on special offer for £3 at the moment!) and the conditioner is is also £4.49 for 250ml (Same offer at Teasco at the moment)

I cant wait to try out more of the Headmasters range - more reviews to follow :) Check out the full range here.
